When my sisters lived in London I went and visited them many times. I Looove London. One of my favorite places to visit there is Hampton Court Palace.
At Hampton Court they have a maze. It’s made of hedges. So once you’re in the maze you’re going to have to find your way out. There’s no cheating by climbing over or under the fence!
Have you ever been lost in a maze?
How did that feel?
What if I told you that being lost in a maze is an analogy for your spiritual life…
Say what?
Your early environment was like a maze. It shaped your thoughts, beliefs and feelings. It shaped your viewpoint about life. It shaped your brain development.
But, it was not in your control!
Once you were born into that beautiful physical body of yours as a little baby, you had no choice about what environment was imprinting you.
It’s like being stuck in a maze.
The sad thing is many of us are acting like we’re still stuck in that maze.
I think that’s why they call being on a spiritual journey “waking up!”. Because you are waking up to the fact that you don’t have to accept what you’ve been taught by your early years and you can choose something different.
