The most common word I have heard people use to describe the work that we do is “practical”. This is truly what sets our work (and others trained by the Americana Leadership College) apart from everything else out there in the world of spiritual growth and development. It is very practical tools that you can apply into your life immediately.
I love the term that my friend and business mentor Alicia Forest uses to describe her spirituality. She says she is “Just one woo”. Me too! I have no desire to be woo-woo. The woo-woo pychics and mediums are a dime a dozen. They are doing the best they know how, but unfortunately there is a lack of good training and understanding about how spiritual laws really work. Unless it’s practical and will help you in your life.. what good is it?
So, this inspired me to write today’s article so that you can see the practical ways being in touch with your inner guidance/angels can help you in your everyday life. There are many more ways, but these will get you started and hopefully more aware of using your guidance as you go about your day.
1. Being organized with your belongings.
How many times have you hopped in the car to go somewhere only to realize that you forgot something and gone back in to retrieve it? Maybe gone back several times!
Your guidance will help you to stay organized. Before you leave the house, take a minute to stop and take a deep breath. Mentally ask your guidance, “Do I have everything I need?” “Is there anything else I need to be aware of?”
More than likely, something will pop into your mind. I’m a visionary, so usually I see a mental picture of the item I’ve forgotten, or the thing I forgot to do. If I forgot to call someone, I might see that person’s face in my mind’s eye.
When I don’t take the time to recheck, that’s when those little annoying things happen! My guidance are often trying to assist me anyway, but if I’m in too much of a rush I won’t pay attention. For example, on Sunday we left the house very early to get up to Maryland for the Pathways Natural Living Expo. I was pretty organized, even choosing my outfit and laying it out the night before. So I felt really good and relaxed that morning.
I was ready to go and just waiting a few more minutes for Richard to be ready. My guides said to me “Why don’t you charge your cell phone while you’re waiting?” But I dismissed this thought! I thought, “no I don’t really have time and besides there’s a charger in the car I can use. “ About 20 minutes into the drive I reached into my purse for my cell phone and discovered I didn’t have it! Then I realized why my guides were asking me to charge my phone. They actually wanted me to look in my purse and discover it wasn’t there!
2. Prioritizing
Have you ever sat down for your work day (or even your home day!) and felt overwhelmed with all the things you have to get done? You’re not sure which one to do first, and which to-do is most important.
You can ask your guidance! Once I have a list of all the items I need to accomplish (and it is important to make the list! Don’t keep it in your head!) I usually phrase the question this way. “Guidance, in your opinion, which of these tasks is the most important priority to get done first for my material and spiritual success at this time?”
If you don’t know how to get an answer to this kind of question, I suggest you check out the Angels Direct Connect consultation so you learn how to get direct, immediate answers to your questions from guidance. You can also ask it mentally in your mind and wait for the answer to come through.
Often I am surprised by the answer my guidance gives me to this kind of question. But when I trust and follow through on what they suggest, it always works out for the best!
3. Conquering Indecision
Have you ever had two engagements scheduled at the same time and not been sure which one to attend? Again, this is about prioritizing. It could seem to you that both events are important and you just can’t decide which one to go to. Your angels have a bigger picture than you do about what you will gain from your involvement in each event, and which is most in alignment with your life purpose and goals. So ask for their suggestion!
Remember, they are not telling you what to do, they are giving their opinion. You can still do whatever you like. So be sure to phrase the question beginning with “In your opinion..”
Last week I was feeling very indecisive about whether to attend a Mom’s group a friend had told me about. It was the first time I would attend, and just wasn’t sure if it was worth my entire morning that day considering I had a lot of work to get done. And if I am truthful, I was nervous about meeting a lot of people I didn’t know and feeling like I wouldn’t fit in. I thought there would be a lot of kids running around and I would feel a bit overwhelmed by it all.
So, I decided to ask my guidance what they suggested I do that day. They suggested that I go to the meeting. So I did. When I got there I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone was immediately very friendly and went out of their way to help me feel welcome. There were no kids running around as the Moms actually put their children in childcare for the meeting- it’s their time out from being a full time mother. It was just so different than the expectation I had in my mind, I was grateful that I listened to my angels and went.
There are no right or wrong choices. You can’t do the wrong thing. It’s just that some opportunities are a closer fit to your life purpose and growth than others. That’s when your angels can step in to advise you of this. For a long time, I have had a goal to make friends with women who live close by that have kids. The group I attended last week is a perfect fit for reaching this goal. No wonder my angels advised me to be there!
As you start seeing your guidance as a practical tool that helps you to be in the right place at the right time in your life, you will see more and more ways that they can assist you. Stay open and relaxed and create a dialogue between you and the very best friends you will ever have!
