This is an original article I wrote… but not recently! My Mum found an Expression magazine from 1997 which had published an article I wrote about angels. I was 18 years old at the time. This was the caption to the article in 1997: “Melissa Kitto has been involved with the Inner Peace Movement for more than five years. As a teenager and part of the Growing Executives of Tomorrow program in New Zealand, she knows she has a lot to share with her apprentices. She offered to answer questions about angels. Here are her responses to questions from Karla Webb, a student at Geraldine High School.”
My name is Melissa Kitto and I have been involved in the Inner Peace Movement for about five years. I would love to answer your questions.
1. What is your definition of an angel?
Angels are souls just like we are. The difference is that they have learnt all the lessons of Planet Earth and so they don’t need to take on a physical body anymore like we do. Instead, they help people like us by becoming spiritual helpers. They are still learning, but they are different lessons to the ones we learn on Earth.
2. How do we contact our angels?
We are all already in contact with our angels without realizing it. Often when you feel chills or shivers that is your angels trying to make you aware of something. Or sometimes they give you little inspirations, like when you just know the teacher is going to ask you, or when you’re thinking of a friend and the next minute they ring you up.
3. Are there different ways of contacting your angels?
There are many ways of consciously contacting your angels. At first it can seem difficult so it helps if you are relaxed in a quiet place. Ask them a simple direct question and then relax and wait for the answer. Don’t analyze it too much, the first thing that comes into your head will be right. It could be words, a picture or a sign. There is another technique we teach people who have the Orientation Profile in IPM that can answer your direct questions. As you practice, it is possible to carry out conversations with your angels in your mind. Angels love to make you laugh, so be prepared!
4. What did Sue Clement (another IPM leader in New Zealand at the time) mean when she said “there is no death”?
Each person on this planet is a soul, a spiritual being that has decided to take on a physical body. When we die, our physical body no longer functions. It stays on Earth because it is part of Earth. Our true self is our soul part which never dies, so when our body dies our soul moves out to the universe with our angels. If we have learnt all the lessons we need to, we move on perhaps becoming angels ourselves. If we haven’t we take on another body and learn a bit more.
5. Do we all have angels?
Everybody has at least one angel. Most people have 4-6 angels. If part of your life purpose is to work with people you will have more angels, because working with people needs more help. There are also angels that aren’t personal helpers of people but oversee organizations or households. Each school or workplace or home has angels that help people in these places out. Angels are everywhere!
6. Could you call them our Guardian angels?
Yes, there are many names of angels. In IPM we often refer to them as our guidance. They can also be called spiritual helpers, guardian angels, guides etc. They really don’t mind what you call them, they just want to help you.
7. Can people see angels?
Not usually, but you can feel their presence through chills and you can hear their words in your mind. Sometimes people can see them. There is a technique in IPM courses where we see people’s auras and sometimes you can see an angel too. They just look like balls of light.
8. How many people belong to IPM?
There are thousands of people around the world involved in IPM. It’s hard to say exactly how many because it’s not something you join. You just go to group meetings, courses, etc when you choose to. Many people use the principles in their life and communicate with their angels but don’t actually go to programs anymore.
9. Does everybody that belongs to IPM believe that their angels help them?
I would hesitantly say “yes.”It is one of the most valuable and important tools that people gain out of being involved in IPM. Having the backing of your angels can help your life immensely. I can’t speak for absolutely everybody because I don’t know them but I would say everybody that stays involved for more than just a couple of months believes that their angels help them. It is just so helpful having a team of angels to consult when you have a problem in your life.
10. Do we all have the same angel or do we have our own?
Everybody has their own angels. As I said before most people have between four and six angels whose soul purpose is to help us, so we might as well take advantage of it! Thanks for your interest. Please share your thoughts and insights. Make a comment and let us know!
