1. Believe you can achieve your goals.

Self-belief is everything. Have you set New Year’s Resolutions in the past, only to forget them a few weeks into January? This can often happen because you don’t truly believe that you can achieve them. If you have a goal to purchase a new car, or a holiday, you need to first believe it is possible. Visualize yourself in that new car, or taking that amazing vacation. Write down all the steps you will need to take to reach that goal. By putting your attention to it every day, you will believe it is already real. And then it will be!

2. No worries, mate!

Do you worry about things that might happen? About 90% of the things we worry about are extremely unlikely to happen. Worry can set you into feeling negative quicker than any other habit. If you are worrying about something that is completely out of your control, it is just a waste of energy. It accomplishes nothing. As soon as you notice yourself worrying, replace that thought with something positive. Think about how much you appreciate your friends and family, or imagine that amazing vacation you are going to take. You’ll feel positive again in no time, and you must stay positive if you want to reach your goals.

3. Don’t listen to the naysayers. They have no skin in the game.

There’s always someone in your life who will tell you that you’re crazy for going after your dreams and goals. They will tell you all the reasons why it won’t work. But have they created success in their own life? More often than not, those naysayer types have not tried to accomplish their own dreams and they want to feel better about themselves by putting you down. Surround yourself with positive people as much as possible who encourage you. Only take advice from people who have achieved what you want to achieve. If they haven’t, politely thank them for their opinion and change the subject – or leave!

4. Be a reverse paranoid.

Unsuccessful people see all the reasons why something won’t work. Instead, try to be a reverse paranoid. When a setback occurs, turn it around to a positive. Perhaps you keep hitting all the red lights. As a reverse paranoid, you take it as a positive sign to slow down and enjoy the moment. Everything can have a positive spin if you are creative. This will help you to stay feeling positive all the time, which is the most important aspect to your success.

5. Appreciate what you already have.

It is easy to become so focused on striving for your goals that you actually feel the lack of what you don’t have yet. Go for your goals, but also appreciate what you already have. The positive moment is the only thing that exists, so make the most of it! Bring in more fun, laughter and friendship into every day. Appreciate the abundance that you already have in your life, whether financial or otherwise. This puts you into a feeling of gratitude which will only build to even more abundance in your life.
